The “Interim Management – Professional Temporary Management” course was once again held this year in cooperation with INCITE/WKO and DÖIM. For many participants, the event offered an intensive insight into an industry that is developing dynamically and whose importance for companies is constantly growing.
Dr. Martin Ludwig Mayr, Chairman of the Board of DÖIM – Dachorganisation öst. Interim Management and Managing Director of GOiNTERIM, helped shape the content of the course and conveyed key aspects of professional interim management from practical experience.
The participants’ great interest in current developments in the interim management market was evident right from the start. Numerous questions on market mechanisms, requirements for interim managers, company expectations and success factors in mandates illustrated the high relevance of the profession.
The focus was particularly on the role of the interim manager as a temporary executive – as a personality who quickly provides orientation in challenging situations, assumes responsibility and delivers effective results.
The presentation not only dealt with basic definitions and market structures, but above all highlighted the special dynamics of interim management. Interim management describes the temporary deployment of external managers when skills are required at short notice, resources are lacking or vacancies need to be bridged professionally.
The decisive factors for successful mandates are:
– a rapid analysis of the situation,
– clear and transparent communication,
– close coordination with all stakeholders,
– and a consistent focus on results.
Another focus was on the cooperation between companies, providers and interim managers. It became clear how important a professional matching process, precise clarification of the assignment and structured support throughout the entire mandate are.
In addition, practical methods were presented that support interim managers in their daily work – including stakeholder analyses, role canvas models and structured procedures from kick-off to the final report. These tools help to set up projects efficiently, implement changes successfully and ensure sustainable results.
The course clearly showed how much potential there is in the interim management profession and how important sound training, exchange of experience and professional networking are for the further development of the industry.
The intensive dialog with the participants was particularly valuable. The open discussions, different perspectives and practical questions made the course an enriching event for everyone involved.
“Interim management means taking responsibility at crucial moments and leading companies safely through change.” – Martin L. Mayr
We would like to thank all participants for their commitment and constructive exchange. We look forward to further developing the profession of interim management together and to providing exciting impetus again at the next course.
